Everyone likes robotic suits blasting and beating the non-living coolant out of each other right? Iron Man is quite a cool home made super hero that has the potential to be good game material, but can it be pulled off given the sceptic flak that all game movie tie-ins face when they go toe to toe with the critics.
Iron Man 2 – The Video Game looks to include lots of hovering, flying and fighting with big robots armed to the gnashers with everything required to make a smoking crater out of a small country. It looks as if players will be able to take the role of both Tony Stark in his hot rod red flying suit, as well as the considerably better armed War Machine, sporting a shoulder mounted minigun.
The gameplay trailer also seems to introduce Stark’s rivals in robot suit warfare, and like any respectable competing businesses, it looks like you get to lock steel fists and hurt each other.
Will it flop or fly? We won’t really know until it is released this April on Wii, 360, PS3, PSP and DS, but the videos certainly make the game look action packed.
I love the Iron Man character. But I’m not going to hold my breath for this game. A trailer I saw on the PSN made the game look the same as the first graphically and the gamepaly trailers I’ve seen – don’t wow or excite me one bit. Zone of the Enders 1 & 2 on the PS2 has impressive (& better) graphics & fun gameplay.
