Halo Reach: E3 campaign trailer

Amongst the flood of E3 trailers is this one, for Halo Reach. This should interest you for two reasons: it concentrates on the singleplayer campaign, and features lots of continuous gameplay footage.

The Halo games are all solid shooters, but the series seems to have a creationist’s attitude toward evolution. We’d say that the footage shown here looks like an extra level from an HD remake of Halo 1; but then, we have to put the ‘Critical’ into ‘Critical Gamer’ sometimes.

That said, the end of the trailer does show space combat, with the player flying some sort of space jet with laser guns. Is this a sign that Reach will stand out from the other Halo games? Time will tell.
