Laughable GTA V “leaked” footage

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations has been officially confirmed, kicking off debate within the gaming community through the few details that have been given so far. Rumours are now running wild across the interweb that Modern Warfare 3 will be revealed at or before E3 – and this news has been met with a great big ‘meh’ from pretty much everybody. But what of Grand Theft Auto V?

Officially, there is no new GTA in development – though as the last ‘proper’ GTA title was released over three years ago, it seems fair to presume that Rockstar are hiding development of a fifth game in the hugely successful franchise somewhere. Does the above video show footage of this very game?

Posted over at VG247 (who were first alerted to the footage via German site PC Games), it’s very difficult to see much of anything. The pathetic picture just about lets you see a TV or monitor, on which some sort of videogame seems to be playing. First, there’s a male avatar wearing what looks suspiciously like a shellsuit standing on the pavement; then it suddenly cuts to a white car driving around on some grass and… that’s it. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
