We’re sure there are plenty of bad guys out there who want to punch Nathan Drake in the face with a Big Daddy drill arm. Such a concept is crazy, but crazy seems to be the direction Sony are going in with PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Here’s the E3 trailer for the game.
It reveals the characters announced so far: Kratos, Nathan Drake, Sly Cooper, Fat Princess, PaRappa the Rapper, Sweet Tooth, Mael Radec and a Big Daddy. Eight characters seems like a slim roster to us, so we’re hoping there are several more yet to be revealed.
This game just screams Sony’s Super Smash Bros., even down to the way characters get punted into the air by heavy attacks. It’s clear they have more than slightly borrowed certain ideas and concepts from Nintendo’s brawler series. But will it work? This question seems to have the gaming community divided. In fact, at the time of writing the trailer above in the official PlayStation YouTube channel has 3635 likes to 4233 dislikes.
A Vita version of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was also announced at E3 that will feature cross-platform play with the PS3 version. There’s no release date set in stone just yet, but we’d hope to see it by the end of the year.
