Assassination doesn’t have to be a lonely pursuit fought in solitude as the latest trailer for Assassin’s Creed III’s multiplayer mode shows.
Multiplayer looks to be just as brutal and carnage fuelled as what we’ve seen of the single player game, with some truly gruesome but impressive assassination animations shown off in the trailer.
As well as the standard deathmatch mode, Assassin’s Creed III also offers a pair of team games. Wolf Pack is a co-op mode that tasks players with eliminating a number of enemies spread across the map before time runs out, whereas the team-based Domination mode sees groups of players securing areas and then defending them from attack.
Each player chooses one of 16 characters and can then upgrade them with a variety of weapons and perks that give them handy hunting and stealth abilities. It all takes place over rich arenas taken from the game’s setting, such as the streets of Boston Harbour and the treacherous Northern Pass.
Assassin’s Creed III will leap out of the shadows onto the Xbox 360 and PS3 at the end of the month on October 31, with the PC version due a bit later on November 23. WiiU players should hopefully be able to pick up their copy around the console’s launch on November 30.
