I was playing Super Mario with my Dad as a child and it was entertaining.

It’s weird, gaming with your child; I expected my daughter to veer towards stuff like Disney Princess, the Kirby games or anything fluffy and cute, but she much prefers things like Ragdoll Kungfu, Castle Crashers and even Rampage (remember that?). While she’ll still enjoy shopping for cool new stuff in a world like Animal Crossing, I must admit my relief that it’s not all My First Kitten or Baby Simulator 2000 lol.

The key, really, is playing WITH your child though, rather than letting a console babysit for you, I think.

Oh and by the way, Never Alone is a fantastic game to play with a little one too.

You could also try Hohokum which is available to download from the PlayStation Store. In fact it’s
been available as a PS+ freebie throughout May, if you’re a subscriber.

The PS4 isn’t quite as family friendly, but there are the Lego games, Little Big Planet 3 and if you want to spend a fortune in toys, there’s Disney Infinity, although the games themselves aren’t meant to be that good. Journey was a great experience and wasn’t difficult to get into, so might be worth a go too. Best of luck. :-)

just wondering what games you’d recommend, i have two daughters aged 2.5 and 4.5, they see me playing my ps4 every once in a while as i mostly game at nights.
they seem to enjoy octodad on ps4 and sketch on the vita, but outside of these most just seem to convoluted for them to enjoy. how is journey for the control system?

I have a 10 month old who watches me and wonder what’s going on in her head and I want not force my love to be hers.
