First LBP’s song is ‘borrowed’, now EyePet’s

Remember when that licensed song off PS3 exclusive LittleBigPlanet was used in that Xbox 360 advert? What do you mean no? Okay, nobody saw it on the telly, but it was on N4G! Anyways, something similar has happened again. You may have seen that new ipod touch advert. You know, the one that suggests the hideously unlikely premise of three people in the same room owning an ipod touch and the same game (bit near the end)? Here it is. We’re not being paid by Apple, but if they bung a few free ipod touches our way we won’t complain:

Does that song seem familiar to you at all? It did to us, and it bugged us, till we realised we’d previously heard it here:

The song Sony has chosen to attach to trailers for the still unreleased EyePet has been picked up by Apple to advertise the ipod touch. More specifically the apps, and more specifically still the games. This, combined with the aforementioned LBP tune pilfering, seems to suggest that Sony’s PS3 has recently become rather influential in the world of games advertising. Why? Good question, especially as the PS3 has held onto third place in the worldwide console race with all its might. Perhaps the rumours and subsequent release of the PS3 Slim have given Sony a boost even bigger than industry insiders are letting on?

Time, and the Christmas charts, will tell…

Haha. When I saw that iPod commercial, for the first 5 seconds I thought it was an ad for EyePet. I was confused. XD

I recognised it instantly from FIFA 10 not Eyepet, IMO Apple always picks the best bits of the best songs for their i-anything ads.
