‘Swords and Soldiers’ Comes Out on Top at Two Award Shows

Romino Games, a young developer, took home an assortment of awards last week for their first Wiiware title, Swords and Soldiers; a side-scrolling real-time strategy game.

Last Thursday, at the Dutch Game Awards Dinner in Amersfoort, the game won the ‘Best Original Game Design’ award. It also snagged the ‘Control magazine Industry’ award, which was handed to them by the gaming Goliath; Peter Molyneux. The other categories the game was nominated for but did not win were; ‘Best Game’, ‘Best Visuals’ and ‘Best Audio’. Not bad considering they were up against rough competition with Killzone 2 and Overlord 2 also amongst those nominated.

Over in Austria, the following Saturday, the game was further commended at the Europrix Multimedia Awards. Here it was simply nominated for the ‘Game’ category, but judges were so impressed by the games addictive nature and attractive visuals that it took home the ‘Overall’ award as well.
