Yakuza 3 goes West

In recent weeks we’ve seen speculation over Yakuza 3 and whether it would ever be heading to these shores, after previous entries in the franchise performed below expectations. However SEGA is here to crush any doubts you may have had and officially confirm that we will indeed be seeing the further exploits of Kiryu Kazuma.

For those of you unfamiliar with the series, Yakuza follows Kiryu Kazuma, an ex-con Yakuza who is attempting to break his ties to crime and move on with his life. Fortunately for us, he seems destined to fail in that, and instead tends to end up punching a load of seedy criminal types.

The third game in the series (to be released in the west) sees our hero running an orphanage as the tale begins. We’d place bets however that the game has not transformed overnight into some kind of orphanage management simulator, the video above seemingly confirms that.

Yakuza 3 is set for a March 2010 release and will be a PS3 exclusive.
