With the free roam multiplayer portion of Red Dead Redemption explained in a video last month, Rockstar have just released a brand new trailer detailing the more competitive based modes letting you accurately determine who has the fastest trigger finger in the new, old west.
As the trailer above shows, some matches start with the iconic Mexican Standoff situation, with everyone in a circle facing inwards ready to shoot each others teeth out and into brain stems. Typically there is only one survivor who can then run off and find his favourite camping spot.
Multiplayer modes are the fairly standard array of deathmatch, team deathmatch and capture the flag modes, but given a Wild West spin on the traditional ideas, such as heavy bags of gold instead of a flimsy flagpole.
Considering that these go on top of the already fantastic looking free roam multiplayer, that lets you and your mates enjoy the truly massive open plains of the American West, Red Dead Redemption is looking like it’ll go down a treat when it is released on May 18 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
