Rachet & Clank, Spyro the Dragon and Resistance developer, Insomniac Games, has signed a deal with EA Partners to create a franchise on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Nothing is really known about the title at this time, but it will involve a ‘brand new universe’ and is being developed at their Burbank Studio. An interesting side note is that this is the first time in the studio’s 16 year lifespan that it has decided to launch a game on a non-PlayStation console.
Ted Price, founder and CEO of Insomniac Games said: “Working with EA Partners allows us to extend the reach of our games to a multiplatform audience while retaining ownership of the intellectual property”.
He continued saying, “We are excited and eager to introduce Insomniac to a new group of gamers while reinforcing to our loyal fans what makes our games special.”
No window for the release of the new game has been announced, and we are certainly curious to learn more about it. It will be interesting to see how a multiformat title may differ to what they are currently used to producing on Sony’s machine. Let’s see what happens.
